Ingredients

½ cup of Japanese rice
½ cup of Jasberry rice
Shiso leaves
Sesame seeds
Filling of your choice

Instructions

1. Begin by cooking the Jasberry rice and the Japanese rice in the same rice cooker or pot. For 1 cup of rice (altogether) use approx. 2 cups and 2 tablespoons of water.

2. With a small amount of salt sprinkled on your hands, mould the rice into small balls or triangles approximately 8cm wide. You may sprinkle water lightly on the wraps to ease the molding process.

3. Create a small well in the centre of the rice and put in your choice of ingredients or leave it without filling to make this Onigiri vegan. Then mould the rice with your hands around the well to cover your filling completely.

4. Sprinkle some sesame seeds and cut up shiso leaves to put on the rice for a little extra flavor. Enjoy as a snack or during lunch.
